Let’s get drastic on plastic.
It’s true. It’s what’s on the inside that counts. But this won’t stop us from aiming to use 100% reusable, recyclable, or compostable packaging, while ensuring we incorporate as much recycled content as possible. We’ve already made a good start:
- To encourage the use of reusables, we introduced reusable chopsticks and bento boxes in 2022.
- In 2023 we removed 10% of plastic from the lids and trays of our most popular packaging, saving 110 tonnes of plastic per year.
- In 2024 we are changing our iconic blue indigo sushi trays to transparent to make them easier to recycle. Our new trays are still made from 100% recycled plastic and are 100 % recyclable.
Not all heroes wear capes.
